Archive for October, 2008

Firstly may I wish you all a very happy and enjoyable Halloween/Samhain for 2008. Every year we hold a private party here at Twisted Towers, and this year is no exception. Guests started arriving yesterday, with more arriving across the day to help prepare the event.

My thanks extend to the following for helping with the set-up: Hedge, Mog, Kenai, Rubber Switch{TM}, MisBehave and Amber. Needless to say I’m not sessioning today.

This year is going to be an exceptionally merry jape with a bonfire, apple bobbing, flour puddings, pin the nose on the pumpkin and many other fun things. It has also taken some exceptional preparation as we sneak a couple of surprises into the proceedings for two people. I’ll tell you more about that tomorrow! :-D

For those of you who have sadly lost someone this year, you can use tonight to follow some of the Old Traditions and remember your dead. As each guest arrives at the party, they have the chance to take a moment to light a red or white candle and place it in a pumpkin. While lighting a red candle for males and/or a white candle for females we remember the people we love who are no longer physically with us. The tradition goes that they hear your thoughts and feelings through the flame and are guided by the light to join the party. This originally Irish tradition used turnips rather than pumpkins, but as Irish emigrants arrived in the USA they had to adapt their practice to use local items - giving us jack-a-lanterns and many other tales to go with them.

Whatever you do today - have fun and I’ll be sure to share ours with you when I can find the computer again!

Bright Blessings

Mistress

All sessions today (Monday) are cancelled while Myself and My household deal with the death of a close family friend.  Our thoughts reach out to the family concerned.

With sadness

Yesterday Myself and a few from My household went on an expedition to see Saw V at the cinema. I’m a huge fan of these films and have even been accused of window-shopping for deviant ideas when I watch them! LOL!

The Saw films are unusual in that the plot line is intricate and becomes more so as the series continues. Most sequels start to fade away as they are released, merely cashing in on previous success, with few exceptions. The Saw films fall into this latter category for the most part, with each film having it’s own charm.

  • Saw I - made on a limited budget. Simplistic, brutal and at times shocking in terms of human behaviour. My least favourite of the set thus far.
  • Saw II - brutal and gory. A raw energy and more complex plot define this film.
  • Saw III - the plot increases in complexity and raises many un-answered questions. The traps have an elegance not seen previously in this film and some remain firm favorites of Mine.
  • Saw IV- possibly the most complicated in plot terms and easily the most sophisticated of the Saw films to date. Many loose threads from Saw III are addressed. The traps remain beautiful and twisted, the cinematography is outstanding.
  • Saw V - fantastic cinematography links past and present time threads as the lead character helps the audience address areas raised in Saw IV. The brutality of Saw II is evident in the traps, helping to remind us that people are dying in the traps; something which faded to an extent in Saw III & IV as the sophistication and elegance of the traps negated this impact in a way. Saw V was called a “re-cap and set up for Saw VI” by two of My companions, something I’m inclined to agree with. It leaves many open questions - paving the way for Saw VI, but also serves in bringing the other films and their complex plot twists into a more easily comprehended whole. I personally left the film feeling vaguely disappointed at this first viewing. While I may alter My opinion  with subsequent viewings (so yes, good enough to watch again) this for Me is like Saw I in that it will need to grow on Me. I felt that the plot line had been “dumbed down” a little in comparison to Saw III & IV. While I enjoy the brutal energy of the traps in this film, I do prefer the beauty of those found in Saw III & IV. A good film and worth a watch, but not My favourite of the series.

Many people believe that visiting a pro-Domme or engaging in BDSM activities is illegal. Let Me enlighten you…..

  • If a pro-Domme works alone then Her pemesis are NOT counted as a brothel (sex does NOT have to take place in order for an establishment to be classed as a brothel).
  • Even with strict rules regarding sexual contact, a Dominatrix is governed by the same legislation as a prostitue. As such, NEITHER is illegal PROVIDING the client approaches the Domina, rather than the Domina actively soliciting for business.
  • BDSM activities are consdiered legal as long as any marks are “transient”. A good rule of thumb is not to break the skin or leave marks that last more than a few days…..some of Us are skilled in leaving the ghost of Our touch on flesh while not leaving a single tell-tale mark ;-)
  • Some pictures taken as mementos during a scene ARE now illegal - take care!
I hope this has helped to dispel some of the legal myths that surround attending a pro-Domme? Further information can be found on My Legalities page, along with some useful links. That these activities are actually legal, also means that you can not be discriminated against should your activities ever come to light. Do please be aware that certain employment contracts contain specific clauses that may cause you to have more problems than others, however, you still have basic human rights that must by law be observed.

I simply had to share this with you all. This message was sent to Me by My first ever 24/7 slave, kajirus. We parted company some time ago while he wandered the globe and he’s recently returned to the UK. This made Me smile so much it’s worth 3 nana’s! (you know what I mean kajirus!). The thoughts of vanilla’s innocently requesting abuse is priceless! Hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!

In my cafe there are certain core items on the menu which prove more popular than others, steak and mushroom pie, chicken bacon and tomato quiche and cottage pie being three of them. During busy periods my staff , under my direction, use an abbreviation system to expedite the writing of the tickets that find their way downstairs into the kitchen to me to be cooked…some of my more regular customers have picked up on this and nowadays i regularly am asked for S&M, CP and CBT by very vanilla and often quite well to do denizens of this city. Needless to say Mistress, it is a source of endless delight to me, and every time reminds me of You.
