A question I get asked a lot by male subs is about clothing choices. While the matter is really one of personal taste, there is actually very little choice for sub males in “standard” fetish clothing. There are a few obvious selections in latex/rubber and PVC, or of course there is the ever useful presentation of totally naked with collar!

However, none of this is particularly helpful in certain environments. What do you wear if you are attending a munch? Going to a club? Or perhaps meeting with a Dominant for the first time and don’t want to seem too presumptuous? Here are My top tips for clothing ideas:

• Take a look at alternative clothing for the emo/punk/Goth market. Think about brands like Cyber Dog, King Kerosin, Criminal Damage etc. They do some lovely male pieces with a very bondage/fetish edge (also a great place to look if you’re a switch!).
• Sub-D came up with a wonderfully creative solution and initially presented to Me wearing a pair of dark CK shaped boxers and neat little vest-top with “sub-d” printed on them. Not only did he look super cute, he displayed attention to detail and made it more than clear that he did not expect to serve Me naked except at My whim.
• PVC and latex are classic choices. Wicked Lingerie have a good selection at reasonable prices for men, even if the models used don’t look 100% heterosexual (this could be considered a bonus while browsing for some of you!).
• Be careful in your selection of items and consider mixing different fabrics together. Wearing an entire outfit in latex or PVC can make attending a club less than comfortable as they raise your temperature significantly.
• Remember your actual body shape! Shiny fabrics can enlarge, while mat finish fabrics can slim. Use a nice shiny PVC top to draw the eye to your torso and a pair of mat (cotton) trousers to negate a less than trim lower half for example.
• If you are going to a munch or club - CHECK THE DRESS CODE! It is more usual to wear “ordinary” clothes to a munch (jeans & interesting t-shirt), and some clubs do prefer it if you arrive looking vanilla/ordinary and then change into something more adventurous while on the premesis. Most clubs will provide a changing area for this anyway as many individuals prefer this approach anyway.
• Footwear can be an issue in many ways. I suggest thinking about brands such as New Rock, Doc Martins etc. Take a look at the styles they offer and keep your eyes open for cheaper alternatives that are visually similar on local markets etc. Also consider some type of slip-on or sandal shape for when you need somthing that can pop on and off readily. Avoid bright colours in footwear to reduce attention to it, and remember, black works with most outfits.
